Rapace is so good in the movie, you have to keep reminding yourself which of the seven roles she is playing. She should get seven paychecks for playing those roles that often had her talking to herself and fighting herself at times.

The film is a science fiction thriller. Even if you are not a fan of science fiction, you will love this one that Netflix released on August 18, 2017.

Background of the futuristic film

The time of the film is the year 2073, and the world is over populated. It happened because the crops were modified to provide more food, but the food caused women to have multiple births. There were so many people in this futuristic city that something had to be done about it.

People had to walk shoulder to shoulder to get to where they are going because there were so many of them. People were literally walking on top of one another. Therefore, a plan was established to deal with the rise in population and the overcrowding.

A one-child policy was put in place where families were allowed to have only one child. If they had more than one child, the extra children were taken away by the Child Allocation Bureau. Parents were told their children would be frozen until the crisis was over. However, that is not what happened to the children.

Woman has seven identical septuplets

A woman has seven children, but she dies in childbirth. That was six more than the Child Allocation Bureau allowed. Their grandfather hides the children and teaches them to live as one child sharing one public personality. They were named after each day of the week, and the child bearing the name could only go outside only on the day of the week that represented her name.

Whatever happened to one child had to happen to all seven so they could stay identical. One sneaked outside on a day when she was about seven years old and lost part of her finger in a skateboarding accident. You can guess what the grandfather had to do to the other six girls to keep them identical.

It was easy to keep the secret while the grandfather was alive, but after he died and the daughters were 30 years old the movie becomes very intense. That's when most of the action takes place that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.

"What Happened to Monday?" is streaming on Netflix now and waiting for you to watch it. You won't be disappointed.
