"13 Reasons Why" is a popular original Netflix series which follows the story of suicidal teen Hannah Baker and investigation into her death. The shows second season is currently in production and it has been confirmed that seven new actors will be joining the cast.

Bryce's parents added to the cast

According to Deadline, several actors will be joining the cast of "13 Reasons Why" season 2 including Jake Weber and Brenda Strong. Jake Weber is joining the show as character Bryce's father called Barry Walker who is a successful hedge fund manager. Barry Walker is also well known among the community and Jessica's rape allegations against his son are sure to cause some controversy in the town.

Brenda Strong is due to play the part of Bryce's mother known as Nora Walker who is the husband to Barry Walker. The addition of Bryce's parents to the cast will allow the series "13 Reasons Why" to explore the parent's reaction as they are told that their son sexually assaulted another student at the school. The allegations that Bryce's assault on Hannah Baker led to her death will be an area of focus this season.

Current stars of the show Dylan Minnette and Katherine Langford have recently addressed the backlash against the show and have stated that despite the negative attention "13 Reasons Why" will continue. There are still many issues, which are yet to be explored in the series and producer Selena Gomez wishes to push forwards with the project.

New student explored

According to Variety, there are many new students who will feature in the second season of "13 Reasons Why." Anne Winters, Bryce Cass, Chelsea Alden, Allison Miller, Samantha Logan, Kelli O’Hara, and Ben Lawson have all joined the cast for the second season of the show and play a series of different characters from an anti-bullying activist to an intelligent litigator.

Brother and sister duo Cyrus and Mackenzie are joining the students at the high school and are described to be a leader of the downtrodden and an artsy student. The character of Nina is a well-respected student who runs track but has a secret that she keeps close to her chest. Jackie is the anti-bully activist and Rick will be joining the show as the baseball coach at Liberty High.

It will be interesting to see how the addition of these new characters will change the current perception of "13 Reasons Why" and fans are wondering how Clay will interact with these students if he does at all.
