John Bernecker was a renowned Stuntman in the film industry. He worked on such films as "Rampage", "Black Panther" and "Escape Plan 2: Hades". Bernecker had been working as a stuntman for only 8 years yet his portfolio accredits him to over 90 positions in various movies and TV series. Bernecker was working for AMC's "The Walking Dead" when the accident occurred. He fell from a height and landed on concrete causing severe head injuries. The stuntman was rushed to the hospital however, his injuries were life-threatening and he passed away.

Bernecker was rushed to the hospital

John Bernecker was a well-known stuntman in the film industry. He was working for "The Walking Dead" season 8 when he fell from a height of over 20 feet. The stuntman landed on the floor made from concrete and as a result suffered a very serious head injury. The incident occurred in Georgia where the production for the eighth season of the show was ongoing. Production immediately halted and Bernecker was rushed to hospital

Bernecker's injuries were critical and as such he was immediately treated in the intensive care unit of Atlanta Medical Center. He was receiving treatment on Wednesday, July 12. The injuries were located in the head and at this time it is unknown what John's condition was when he first arrived at the hospital.

Unfortunately, his injuries were too severe and he passed away from the tragic accident.

Support poured in for the stuntman

Fellow cast members and fans used social media to give their messages of support to John when he was initially brought to the hospital. Cast members such as Lauren Cohan asked for people to keep John in their prayers.

It is clear that fellow members of "The Walking Dead" family were hoping that John would pull through.

Production for "The Walking Dead" was immediately halted. AMC has released a statement saying that John Bernecker is a beloved member of their family. Their thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very difficult time.

According to Digital Spy, Benecker was on life support as of Wednesday. His family rushed to be by his side. Unfortunately, John Bernecker has passed away from his injuries.

Filming for the eighth season of "The Walking Dead" is to resume shortly in Georgia. This is not the only tragedy in "The Walking Dead" family as of late. A voice over artist for "Fear The Walking Dead" also passed away from a skydiving accident earlier this week. AMC have expressed their condolences for friends and family of the deceased.
