A bunch of theories and fan-made predictions were quick to make rounds in the headlines shortly after the seventh installment of "The Walking Dead" was entirely wrapped in April this year. Season 8 is set to return to the small screens this fall, and more spoilers are foreseen to be underway before the season premiere.

During the last minute scene of season 7 finale, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan), and King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) have joined forces to fight Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his group The Saviors.

Seeing how the finale ended ominously, "The Walking Dead" season 8 is not going to be an easy journey for Rick and his team.

Though it can be too early to predict the possible aftermaths, the ending scene successfully relayed the message that an all out war is happening in the new season.

Rick and Maggie prepare for war

As per Entertainment Weekly, the first image has just been released which flaunted Rick and Maggie. There isn't much to tell by just looking at one photo, but the sneak peek image hints big at the two of them getting ready to hit the battleground.

If Rick's team is plotting their next move, the enemies will not just sit idly and watch without doing anything. Despite the whispers and predictions about what's to come in the much awaited season, fans believe that season 8 is going to be a bad start for Negan and his band The Saviors.

"We have set the stage for All Out War. Negan's said it; everybody has seen they're in it." showrunner Scott Gimple told Entertainment Weekly.

The 46-year old writer-producer further explained how the series would transition from one angle of the story to another, saying "It will play out quickly and propulsively and attentively and will shift the focus quite a bit between the different places and battlegrounds and characters and communities."

Who dies, who lives?

It was obviously not named "The Walking Dead" for nothing.

From just the title itself, fans can only expect the worse of deaths and survivals as the series move to season 8. Now that a new story is about to start, fans couldn't just stop but wonder who dies and who lives?

Showrunner Scott Gimple and The CW have yet to reveal further details about the first synopsis, final casting, and premiere date. However, reports say that "The Walking Dead" season 8 will be back anytime in October this year. For now, everything will be under wraps until the network gives the green light.
