The crossover is now happening as "The Vampire Diaries" star Candice King is going to reprise her role as Caroline Forbes in the coming "The Originals" Season 5. The 30-year-old star will grace in the spinoff series' first episode, although it is not yet revealed if she will be in the entire season.
TV Line reported that details about King's appearance in the supernatural drama remain scarce. People behind the show and The CW itself are also tightlipped about it. However, the news still makes a lot of the two television series' fans excited.
A possible reunion
Caroline Forbes is now the one who is running the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted along with Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis). This is the same school where Niklaus Mikaelson's (Joseph Morgan) daughter, Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell), is attending. So, fans are now waiting for the possibility that the former couple will be once again reunited.
As of the moment, The CW has yet to confirm that Caroline and Klaus will once again meet. However, according to TV Guide, there are strong assumptions that she is about to go to New Orleans to visit her ex-boyfriend. Rumors have it that the reunion might happen at the school as this is where Hope enrolled in the show's previous season.
The continuation of a postponed relationship
Moreover, fans last saw Caroline Forbes at the end of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 when her husband Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) sacrificed himself for the betterment of Mystic Falls. She is now trying to move on and rebuilding her life after what happened. From the looks of it, she has now found her true purpose by running Salvatore Boarding School for the Gifted with Alaric Saltzman.
Klaus Mikaelson even donated $3 million to the school and gave her a letter that showed he still had strong feelings for her.
This made fans predicted that Caroline is coming in "The Originals" Season 5. The note read that Klaus was looking forward to finally see her again and thank her personally when they met. "However long it takes..." it continued.
So, this might be the perfect time that the former couple's fans have been long waiting for. The two's deferred relationship might once again start and will give birth to another new story.
Meanwhile, "The Originals" Season 5 is about to feature another time jump as Hope Mikaelson is now a grown-up lady. The CW has yet to announce the official release of the spinoff series' fifth season, but it is expected to return in 2018.
