"RHOC's" Shannon Beador is struggling with losing a substantial amount of weight after gaining 40 pounds in an eight-month period. The 53-year-old's marriage was at a good place at the beginning of season 11, but went into a downward spiral after Vicki Gunvalson exposed the domestic abuse she claimed to have knowledge of between Shannon and David Beador.
David in it for fame and money?
Radar Online reports that David Beador is staying in the marriage mainly for the fame that "The Real Housewives of Orange County" gives him -- as well as the money.
Shannon's weight gain combined with the scandal of last season, has put a strain on their relationship. Shannon is said to be desperate to lose the weight to make David happy, and not necessarily doing it for herself.
Shannon Beador said in the season 12 premiere episode of "RHOC" that she's embarrassed by her body and doesn't even recognize the person that she's become. Cameras showed her with David in the kitchen making healthy meals and trying to get a grasp on her life again.
Shannon enlists the help of feng shui expert
In the next episode of "RHOC," Shannon brings in the help of Elaine, a feng shui pro. She tells Shannon that their new house’s energy could be to blame for her failing marriage.
Elaine explains that several old items from the old home have a negative energy. Those things are making the new home toxic for the relationship.
Shannon tells Elaine that just prior to moving out of the old house, things were "a little bit better" with David. The stress of her life the past eight months have contributed greatly to the strain they've experienced.
If Shannon removes the old items in their new house, will that contribute to a better relationship with David? Some who tend to be superstitious put a lot of stock in those notions. Shannon might be so desperate to save her marriage, that she'll do anything.
Troubles from the past
Shannon and David Beador have had their share of troubles in their marriage.
Two years ago, David had an eight-month fling with a woman named Nicole McMackin. The couple have endured domestic violence situations, with Shannon saying she once called the police to stop an argument. Vicki had no qualms about telling the world that she was in possession of photos proving Shannon had injuries inflicted upon her from David. Shannon had a very public meltdown at the season 11 reunion following the explosive claims.
