“NCIS" is an American action police procedural television series, revolving around a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, which investigates crimes involving the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.

The show will be continuing with its Season 15 production but cancellation rumors are making the rounds, as speculations claim that Mark Harmon is going to leave the show. Fans are reportedly ready and excited for the next season of NCIS, but will Harmon still be a part of it?

Will Mark Harmon leave the show for good?

There are several cancellation rumors arising ahead of the upcoming season 15 of NCIS on September 26 this year, as two of the main characters could possibly leave the show. First in the row is Mark Harmon (Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the series) who was one of the first actors who joined the program way back 2003 in its first season. Harmon is 65-years-old and there have been a number of false rumors concerning problems with his health. Those rumors led some to believe that he might retire from acting and leave the NCIS series after this season 15.

Those rumors are false and Mark Harmon is signed through the end of Season 15, at the least. If Harmon wants to return, there is no reason to believe that he won't sign a new deal to return before the season ends.

Jennifer Esposito’s exit after ‘NCIS’ Season 14

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Jennifer Esposito (Alex Quinn) will exit the show after starring in it for just one season. In “NCIS" Season 14, she replaced Michael Weatherly (Tony DiNozzo), who exited the series as they wrote off his character after 13 years on NCIS. There are some hints for fans of “NCIS” how the character of Quinn will end her stint on the show, as her mother suffers from dementia and her character might quit the team to care for her.

Despite only appearing for one season of the series, Esposito revealed that she is grateful to the producers of the show for giving her the chance to work with them. “It was a great experience,” she says. “I could not have asked for a better opportunity than to work with the NCIS cast and producers.”

It was revealed that her character of Alex Quinn had been struggling with her partner’s death when Agent Gibbs asked her to join the team.

"NCIS" Season 15 is reportedly going to be filled with new explosive stories and characters. Fans of Mark Harmon should remain hopeful that all the rumors die down and he returns for even more action after this season ends.
