LOS ANGELES - Chester Bennington, the lead singer of the famous Linkin Park band, was found dead in his private residence at the Los Angeles County. Police reports revealed that he committed suicide due to struggles with alcohol and drugs.

Chester Bennington, 41 years old, is the lead singer of Linkin Park. He joined the band in 1999 and debuted with the album “Hybrid Theory.” He performed and led the tracks with an amazing voice filled with anguish. Together with the rest of the band members, they have amazed millions of fans worldwide.

They were even nominated for a Grammy award for best rock album. The singer also appeared on the “Stone Temple Pilots,” “films Crank” and “Saw 3D.”

Los Angeles County Coroner spokesman confirmed that Chester Bennington died at his home in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles County. It happened before 9:00 a.m. yesterday, July 20, 2017. After the news of his death surfaced, a lot of his fans, bandmates and family were shocked and heartbroken. They didn’t expect this to happen because they are set for a photo shoot in Hollywood on the day Bennington was found dead. They are also scheduled for several band appearances and performances.

In a report from by TMZ, sources revealed that he hanged himself when he was alone at his residence. His family, on the other hand, was out of town.

Why the singer killed himself?

Before his death, Charles Bennington frankly shared his struggles with drugs and alcohol addiction. In his own project, “Dead by Sunrise,” he even featured his own battles with addiction.

In an interview with the Noisecreep in 2009, he even disclosed that his life was falling apart in different ways. It includes getting divorced, drinking too much, and indulging in drugs while facing his problems and fixing himself. CNN also mentioned in their latest report that the singer also shared his sexually and physically abusive childhood, which has contributed to his addiction to cocaine and methamphetamine.

He also revealed that he was beaten up and raped by an older male.

Despite his situation, he has been open to the public. He even admitted that it is not cool to be an alcoholic and be a dumbass. “It’s cool to be a part of recovery. This is just who I am, this is what I write about, what I do, and most of my work has been a reflection of what I’ve been going through in one way or another,” added Bennington.
