It looks like there is a new trend emerging in Hollywood as A-listers are moving from the big screen to the small screen. Following the success of HBO's "Big Little Lies" featuring A-listers Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, and Shailene Woodley, an upcoming series is reportedly in the works set to be top-billed by Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aniston and Witherspoon are set to star in a series featuring the drama, perks, and quirks of women working on a morning TV show. The series will still be on HBO and seasoned director, Michael Ellenberg will be working behind the reigns.

The upcoming series with Reese Witherspoon is a big deal for Jennifer Aniston because this is actually the first TV series she's going to star in a decade after her role as Rachel in "Friends." As of this writing, the title of the upcoming series remains undisclosed but it is expected to focus on the drama of morning shows and the New York media scene as a whole.

Going out to premium channels and streaming services

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project of Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon will be a big one and is expected to be non-exclusive to HBO. This means that other premium channels can grab a hold of the rights to air the series including Netflix and other streaming services.

The said arrangement is pretty understandable considering that the tandem of Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon is a very dynamic one. It would be a waste for the series to simply be held exclusively under the constraints of one network, right? With big stars like Aniston and Witherspoon holding the lead roles, it is expected that the series will have a lot of bidders from other networks.

Rachel from 'Friends' is a Jill-of-all-trades

Aside from being one of the lead actresses in the upcoming series, Aniston is also tagged as one of the executive producers for the project. Her tandem with Witherspoon is not the first time, as the two have already worked together in "Friends."

In the hit 90's show, Witherspoon had a couple of appearances in some episodes playing the role of Rachel's younger sister.

Throughout the years, the on-screen sisters managed to remain friends and both are excited to work together again in the new project.

Meanwhile, Reese Witherspoon is still on board for another HBO series, "Big Little Lies." The "Legally Blonde" actress will definitely have a lot of exposure on the small screen this year and is expected to stretch out until 2018.
