With the release of several trailers and teasers images for the new season of the highly popular HBO television series, "Game of Thrones," fans already have a good idea of what will be going down. As the promotional media suggests, a big war will be coming in the form of the clash between the White Walkers, the Lannisters, Jon Snow, Daenerys, and the Greyjoys. However, how everything will be going down is still up for debate. Fortunately, HBO has now revealed the official synopsis and the titles of the first three episodes, which should give fans an idea of what to expect when the new episodes arrive this month.

Titles and synopsis

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 episode 1, titled "Dragonstone," has been revealed to feature the arrival of Daenerys, played by Emilia Clarke, in her ancestral home of Dragonstone. In the meantime, Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, is busy organizing his troops and defense in the north for the upcoming arrival of the White Walkers and the Night King. The episode airs on July 16 at 9 p.m. ET.

Episode 2, titled "Stormborn," will be seeing Daenerys being visited by an "unexpected visitor," while Tyrion, played by Peter Dinklage, will be laying out his plans to take over Westeros. In the north, Jon Snow will be facing a possible revolt. The episode airs on July 23. Lastly, episode 3, titled "The Queen's Justice," will be focusing on the initial encounter of Daenerys and Cersei.

Meanwhile, a chunk of the episode will apparently be focused on Jaime, played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, as he eventually realizes what he has done. The episode airs on July 30.

Slow beginning

Based on the recently announced episode synopsis, the first few episodes look like they will be filled with dialogue more than bloodshed.

Most of the scenes will likely feature some very intense verbal confrontations and perhaps some altercations, but so far most of the big battles may still be a long way off. The episodes, however, will set up all the events that will eventually lead to the main confrontations.

New alliances

As indicated in the trailers and materials, there will be some new alliances that will be formed.

The latest theories have revealed that Cersei may be forming an alliance with Euron Greyjoy. Meanwhile, Daenerys will not only have her Unsullied and Dothraki army, but she may also be joined by Theon and Yara Greyjoy as well. It is not yet clear how Jon Snow's fight in the north will fare and how he will manage to persuade everyone to fight with him against the White Walkers.
