This Halloween, "Stranger Things" Season 2 is set to pick up where it left off in July of last year, and viewers will finally get to see what happened to the small, sleepy town of Hawkins following the death of the Demogorgon at the hands of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), who vanished shortly after. With the return of Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), everything will look like it has gone back to normal, but upon closer inspection, there are many more horrors arriving in town. For one, Will is still dealing with PTSD and those slugs that he keeps throwing up, while a large spider-like creature -- which some fans assume is the Pollywog -- will also arrive to terrorize the main characters.

Speaking of main characters, David Harbour's Chief Jim Hopper will seemingly go on a new journey when the sophomore season arrives.

David Harbour talks Jim Hopper's journey in Season 2

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, "Hellboy" reboot star David Harbour hinted at what's to come for Chief Jim Hopper, who saved the day in the freshman season of the Duffer brothers' horror series. According to Harbour, the events of the first season have thoroughly changed Hopper, and may have altered his way of thinking. In fact, the actor explained to The Hollywood Reporter how in the first season, Hopper realized "why he was dead inside" and how he changed from being someone who was just trudging along in life to being a hero.

According to Harbour, "Stranger Things" season 2 will find Hopper "examining the perils of what it is to be a hero or perhaps the fantasies that you have about yourself and the dangers of that."

Chief Jim Hopper goes on 'a different arc'

It is because of these "perils" and "dangers" that Chief Jim Hopper is to "go on a different arc" when "Stranger Things" season 2 arrives.

Viewers can recall that at the end of the first season, Hopper got into a car with someone assumed to be from the Hawkins National Laboratory. Now that Hopper is aware of the odd realities and activities that went on in the lab, it is assumed that he may have struck a deal with them to keep the truth under wraps. This deal may be something that involves the said "perils" and "dangers" that come with dealing with the supernatural.

New faces to arrive in Hawkins

In "Stranger Things" season 2, viewers will get to see the return of their favorite cast, as well as the arrival of new faces, including Sean Astin, who will play Bob Newby, Joyce Byers' (Winona Ryder) new love interest. The sophomore season is set to take place on Halloween in 1984, roughly a year after the death of the Demogorgon and Eleven's disappearance. Season 2 will arrive on Netflix on October 31.
