Rihanna is reportedly working on new music following the success of her hit single “Wild Thoughts.”

The Dj Khaled-produced track is quickly rising on the Billboard Hot 100, and while Rihanna had somewhat neglected the music industry to focus more of her attention on building a fashion empire, being back in the studio has made her realize how much she’s missed recording new material.

Working with DJ Khaled on the new song gave Rihanna the confidence to not only record the track but also work on potential hits that could make the cut on her ninth album.

Though Rihanna hasn’t mentioned anything to her fans about new music being on its way, sources tell Hollywood Life that the “Diamonds” songstress is definitely working on putting out something before the year’s end.

Everything is still in the early stages, but if Rihanna can have it her way, she would want to put out a new record this year with an accompanied world tour that would kick off sometime in November or December.

Rihanna reportedly hopes to get back on tour this year

Working with songwriters on a song as creatively fun as “Wild Thoughts” has given the 29-year-old all the motivation she needed to know that it’s time for her to begin the process of putting together another studio album, in the hopes that this one will be better than her previous.

“Rihanna is super excited to bring new music to her fans and hopefully get back on the road possibly as early as the end of this year. She has been spending her days in the studio hard at work on her ninth studio album,” an insider explains.

It’s been well over a year since Rih-Rih released her critically-acclaimed eighth record, Anti, selling over 2 million copies worldwide and producing hits such as “Work,” “Needed Me,” and “Love On The Brain.”

The pop princess is loving how her fans are connecting with her island roots, which is why she’s been so inspired to keep recording music material that has a particular reggae style to it.

She loves the fact that she has a platform to express herself through the sound of music she grew up listening to.

A possible announcement could be made very soon

Rihanna has yet to confirm reports that a new album is in the works. For now, she's simply enjoying the success of "Wild Thoughts," which debuted at number one on the iTunes charts in over 25 countries, showing strong signs that fans are eager to hear new music material from the "Disturbia" hitmaker.

The music video for "Wild Thoughts" has surpassed over 28 million views in less than four days since its release on YouTube and VEVO.
