There are many events that can be deemed “newsworthy,” and Donald Trump becoming the president of the United States of America is certainly one of them. The news, in fact, managed to shake the world to its very core and made nearly every living person question the future of the free world. Such a historic event certainly deserves a closer examination, which is why Channel 4 has decided to create a new documentary series titled “Trump: An American Story.

Making a president

Whether you love him or hate, there is no denying that Donald Trump has lived an extraordinary life.

He was certainly born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but his enterprising attitude allowed him to transcend the life of a businessman. Now he has immortalized himself by becoming the president of America.

The UK’s Channel 4 is looking to document the life of President Trump in a four-part series titled, “Trump: An American Story. In this series, they will try to encapsulate five decades of Trump’s life and cover all the major milestones that eventually led to his election campaign.

The broadcasters of the series had this to say about the upcoming documentary: “The series tells the story of modern America through one man, showing how he has embodied many of the movements that have shaped U.S.

society from the 1960s to the present day, from turbo-capitalism and political disenfranchisement to celebrity, reality TV, and social media.”

What to expect

There is no doubt that the British have been obsessed with Trump ever since he became president early this year. There have been several stories and series that have already covered his meteoric rise, including titles such as “Donald Trump: The People’s Billionaire,” “Trump: The First 100 Days,” and “Who is Donald Trump?” It is understandable that the media should be intently covering stories about America’s accidental president, but Britain seems to be taking things to the next level in this regard.

Channel 4 itself, has also covered Trump before on two separate occasions, with specials such as “President Trump’s Dirty Secrets” and “Dispatches.”

The latest documentary series is being made by a production house called 72 films and will be produced by BBC Worldwide. The series will look to examine each of Trump’s various roles before he became president, including his time as a real-estate developer, media personality, businessman, and politician.

We can’t be certain if the documentary will portray Trump neutrally or even accurately, but if you ask the president himself, he will tell you that there is no such thing as bad publicity anyway.
