Michael Weatherly’s Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo in “NCIS” is apparently missed by everyone as he has been constantly asked if there is any chance of him coming back to the show. He left the series in 2016 and this wasn’t good news for everyone as most fans have learned to love his character. Although he wasn’t positively received by female viewers at first because of being a charming goofball, fans started to like him when he decided to keep his chauvinism within bounds. In a recent interview, the actor shared some great news to all his fans in the show when he hinted that it’s possible he will reunite with Cote de Pablo.
Anthony DiNozzo and Ziva David’s love story to continue?
Cote de Pablo’s Special Agent Ziva David in “NCIS” was killed due to a mortar attack in Israel, which broke DiNozzo. He later decided to resign from his job to seek answers and take care of his daughter. However, Ziva’s dead body was never found. This leads most fans to believe that de Pablo might make a comeback to the show one day soon. When Weatherly spoke with Digital Spy to promote his new series “Bull,” the actor said that he can foresee DiNozzo and other characters return to the show when the time is right.
Weatherly said that he would “never say never” when it comes to “NCIS” and is willing to do more action in the show when the time comes that he is needed.
It can be recalled when de Pablo left the show in 2013. He said that he shared great chemistry on-screen with her and she is definitely one of her favorites. "She's one of my favorite people. For eight years, we got to have a lot of fun. Certainly, in terms of chemistry, I've never had anyone like that rattle my brain!" he added.
Weatherly’s exit from the show is because of de Pablo?
The “NCIS” actor has previously revealed that his departure from the police procedural series stemmed from de Pablo’s exit from the show. He also wants to explore his talents as an actor and his dream to professionally branch out. Weatherly also said that if he is not reuniting with de Pablo in the show, there’s always a chance to work with her in “Bull.” However, most fans can’t stop hoping that they will be back together again as Special Agents Anthony DiNozzo and Ziva David.
Right now, we are still uncertain as to when Weatherly and de Pablo will reunite in “NCIS.” However, one thing is for sure – both stars have done a pretty great job in the show and fans are looking forward to seeing them again soon. We never know! DiNozzo and David might just be around the corner.
