"Games of Thrones" first began in 2011 and has gained worldwide popularity. The series is due to release its seventh season on July 16. The HBO series, starring such stars as Kit Harrington, Sophie Turner, and Emila Clarke, has been widely anticipated by an international audience. The second trailer for Season 7 was released online today.

Winter is finally here

The trailer gave several hints to what fans can expect in season 7 of "Game of Thrones". With the #WinterIsComing, the message is loud and clear. There is a war on the horizon and the world of Westeros is preparing.

A voice over from Jon Snow, played by Kit Harrington, sees him talking to someone about an alliance. He refers to their ancestors having fought together before. This, coupled with Sansa's ominous warning at the end stating the lone wolf will die but the pack will live, leads to the belief that there will be some sort of alliance formed. There is much speculation as to whether or not Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen will join forces.

Daenerys is seen returning to Dragonstone and tearing down the Baratheon banners. The shores of Dragonstone reveal some arrivals. It could be Jon Snow finally arriving for the anticipated meeting between him and Daenerys, or it could be Gendry arriving at his destination at last.

Meanwhile, Cersei Lannister and Euron Greyjoy have struck up an alliance.

The trailer also shows scenes of Jon cutting down a Wildling, Brienne and Pod in the courtyard of Winterfell, Bran's visions of the White Walkers and much much more.

Trouble to come between Sansa Stark and Jon Snow?

Sophie Turner, who plays character Sansa Stark, has teased that there may be differences of opinions between Sansa and Jon.

Sansa finally has some power in her hands but not as much as her half-sibling. This, Turner revealed, will be a source of struggle for the Stark and may lead to some tension between the pair. It is possible that this season Jon Snow's greatest threat could be from his own family.

The trailer gives way to a possible meeting between Jon Snow and younger half-brother Bran.

Fans are dying for another Stark reunion after seeing Sansa and Jon together in season 6. Arya is seen traveling on horseback but the question is, where is she traveling to?

Season 7 of "Game of Thrones" is just around the corner. Fans are dying to know what will happen next. Judging by the trailer there an abundance of conflict, war, and love to please them. "Game of Thrones" airs on July 16 on HBO.
