NBC's "America's Got Talent" has had some very interesting and outstanding acts this season. In just two weeks of the new season, two people have already received the Golden Buzzer from the judges. That means the contestants will go further in the competition without the judges having to vote on them. They go straight through to the live shows.

On Tuesday, June 6, 2017, Simon Cowell was so impressed with a singer that he pushed the buzzer for Mandy Harvey. She is a deaf singer who played the ukulele and sang her own original song entitled "Try." She has been deaf for 10 years after losing her hearing because of a connective tissue disorder.

She explained that she wrote the song about wanting to do more and not give up just because she can't hear.

Mandy let the audience know that she has been singing since she was four years old, and after she lost her hearing she had to find a new way to reconnect with her musical background. She did so through what she called muscle memory by using visual tuners and trusting her pitch. She relied on what she remembered before she became deaf.

Translator

A translator named Sarah was available during Mandy's time on stage during the introduction before she performed. After the singer wowed the judges and audience with her song, Cowell reached over and said no translator was needed. Then he pushed the Golden Buzzer and confetti fell on the stage covering the 29-year-old Florida native.

During the excitement, Mandy's father joined her on stage and gave her a big hug.

The crowd went wild and stood on their feet. Cowell ran on stage and hugged Mandy. It was evident that he was really touched. Fans of the show don't usually see a reaction like that from him. He admitted that he has been a host on this type of show for a long time, and he has never seen anything like that before.

He added that it was the most amazing act he has ever seen or heard. The other judges and those in the audience agreed.

Sang to perfection

Even though Mandy could not hear at all, she played her ukulele and kept in tune with the ensemble behind her as she sang to perfection. She did it while standing barefooted so she could feel the vibrations from the floor.

Just like the audience, all four of the judges, including Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel gave the singer a standing ovation. New host Tyra Banks was excited over what she had just witnessed. It will be very interesting to watch the singer's next performance when she appears during the live shows.
