While neither of the reality stars initially revealed the main reason off their shocking breakup, Higgins was forced to address fans’ interrogations through his iHeartRadio podcast. The 29-year-old personality debunked rumors tagging him with “Ben and Ashley: Almost Famous” co-host Ashley Iaconetti and revealed that he was badly hurt by the breakup.

"When you really care about somebody and you really love somebody and that has to end — for whatever reason, even for reasons that either person can't really explain, it's just a feeling and you have to go your separate ways — it hurts. It hurts bad," the reality star revealed.

Ben Higgins did not really emphasized the main reason behind his split from Lauren Bushnell.

However, “The Bachelor” 2016 star has shared with US Weekly that he felt grateful for the time he had with his former fiancée and promised that they will remain friends.

Did ‘The Bachelor’ confirm that Jojo Fletcher caused the breakup?

A few weeks after the split, Lauren Bushnell finally opened up about the main reason why she and Ben Higgins decided to part ways.

Citing her disinterest in doing another show after “The Bachelor” 2016, the 26-year-old beauty revealed that filming “Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After?” had affected their relationship.

Bushnell revealed that doing another reality series had prevented her and Higgins from spending time together to bond and know each other more.

The reality star added that she was in a “high-stress situation” while filming the show and she did not like it.

Another thing that possibly caused their breakup was when Lauren Bushnell required JoJo Fletcher for an episode. “The Bachelor” 2016 winner told PEOPLE that she felt stuck in the same old place while she was trying to move on Ben Higgins. Stay tuned for more updates about the couple!
