KCON 2017 NY is less than a month away, and many Hallyu fans are anticipating the festivities. Along with the numerous panels and workshops, many K-pop fans look forward to featured artists performing during KCON 2017 NY's concert part. Such acts include UP10TION, KNK, NCT 127, and Zion.T.

Even though the event above has yet to happen, KCON USA is already building hype and anticipation for the second United States KCON event, KCON 2017 LA. Last week, they announced SF9 and Girl's Day as the first two K-pop acts to perform. This week, they announced two more K-pop acts to join them: ASTRO and NCT 127.

Two more popular K-pop acts join SF9 and Girl's Day at KCON 2017 LA

KCON USA made the announcement that Astro and NCT 127 would be performing at KCON 2017 LA yesterday, June 8, 2017. They are the third and fourth K-pop acts to be announced for the event right after SF9 and Girl's Day.

The KCON LA venues are by all accounts similar to the KCON NY venues with the only exception being its length and size. About the length, KCON LA is one day longer than KCON NY. Ergo, there are usually more K-pop acts featured as performers. About size, KCON LA occupies not just the Staples Center but the Los Angeles Convention Center and other buildings around the area.

The new additions to KCON 2017 LA's lineup are two rookie boy bands making an impact!

Astro is a boy band formed under Fantagio Music consisting of eight members: MJ, JinJin, Cha Eunwoo, Moon Bin, Rocky, and Yoon Sanha. They made their debut back in February 2016 with their first mini-album or extended play (EP) titled "Spring Up." It peaked at number four in South Korea and number six in both Taiwan and the United States in sales.

As of now, they have sold over 26,000 copies in South Korea alone.

So far, Astro's most popular song is "Breathless," the featured title track song off their second mini-album or EP "Summer Vibes." It is their first and only song to chart in both South Korea on the Gaon Chart and in the United States on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart.

Recently, Astro made their second comeback for 2017, their latest mini-album or EP titled "Dream Part 01" featuring the title track song "Baby." It was released last month on May 29, 2017.

As for NCT 127, they are so far the only K-pop act to perform at KCON 2017 LA which is also performing at KCON 2017 NY. The most likely reason behind this is because they are technically still a rookie (sub) group.

Formed back in July 2016 under SM Entertainment, NCT 127 is a sub-group of Neo Culture Technology or NCT. They consist of members who were born in Seoul: Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark, and Haechan.

So far this year, NCT 127 has released their second mini-album or EP titled "Limitless" featuring a song of the same name.

The song did not chart in either South Korea or China, but it did chart in the United States on the Billboard World Digital chart at number four. On June 14, 2017, they will release their third mini-album or EP titled "Cherry Bomb."

KCON 2017 LA will be held in Downtown Los Angeles on August 18 to 20, 2017. For Hallyu fans who want to attend the venue, tickets are now available for purchase as of July 7, 2017, at 10 a.m. PST.
