The decade-long waiting for a "High School Musical" reunion was granted by Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel when they collaborated for a rendition of "What I've Been Looking For" on Tisdale's music session on YouTube. The female singer-actress opened the eight-minute episode with a chitchat with her on-screen brother.

'High School Musical' reunion

Tisdale revealed her viewers have been requesting her to have a session with Grabeel; hence, the female celebrity finally heeds their calls and invited her co-actor for a jam session. Tisdale played the character of Sharpay in the "High School Musical" franchise, while Grabeel took the role of Ryan.

The Evans twins competed against Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens) during a singing competition in their school.

The 31-year-old actress said in the viral YouTube video that she wanted her session with Grabeel to be extra special as a treat to all "High School Musical" fans who have been waiting for a reunion. Hence, the actor personally made an effort to produce a rendition of "What I've Been Looking For" which they sang ten years ago for the first part of the Disney franchise.

After finishing his rendition of the soundtrack, Grabeel even informed his co-stars about the piece and asked them to listen to his piano version of the "High School Musical" track. Grabeel, on the other hand, admitted he first thought of "What I've Been Looking For" when Tisdale asked him to be on her music session.

He, however, said that the early stage of practicing the song on the piano had taken him aback. The actor added hearing the song felt nostalgic which made him remember all his "High School Musical" memories ten years ago. Grabeel was even teased by Tisdale to name his favorite memory of her, to which he replied by imitating Sharpay's voice and gesture.

Bop to the Top

Grabeel revealed it was his first time to visit a recording studio to record his rendition of "What I've Been Looking For" after his "High School Musical" days. He also expressed his gratitude to all their fans who have been supporting the gang even after all these years.

He added their roles in "High School Musical" has given them the opportunity to bring music to life which he described as a "cradle gift." Tisdale, on the other hand, commended her co-actor for his ability to hit any note, stating that Grabeel was the best singer among the four main cast members.
