After a long wait, Netflix will finally release all new episode of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt season 3 on Friday, May 19. This time, Kimmy Schmidt, played by Ellie Kemper, will head to college so she can chart a brighter future for herself. What else can viewers expect from the new episodes?
As she plans for a better life, Kimmy will experience a major setback when her former cult leader, Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne (Jon Hamm), resurfaces. Viewers may recall Kimmy learned in season 2 that she was married to the Reverend while she was his prisoner for 15 years.
Now, he's seeking a divorce from her. Kimmy worries for his latest conquest played by Laura Dern). Her future could be ruined too. What will she do and will she help the new victim?
Ignoring her past
"She's trying to figure out if she should get divorced from the Reverend or not get divorced," Ellie Kemper told the press while promoting the show's return.
Still traumatized from her experiences as his prisoner in his bunker, Kimmy will ignore both her dilemma with the Reverend and their divorce in the first half of season 3. Kimmy will concentrate on her school work and become friends with a classmate named Perry (Daveed Diggs).
In the second half of season 3, Kimmy will be emboldened to confront her past.
Viewers will find a familiar face as her therapist from season 2, Dr. Andrea Bayden, played by Tina Fey.
Titus seeks vengeance
Meanwhile, Kimmy's roommate Titus (Tituss Burgess) will agonize over his relationship with Mikey (Mike Carlsen). A Netflix teaser released in February showed Titus doing a parody of Beyonce's "Lemonade" as he will suspect Mikey cheated.
The actor told the press his character will go "to some great lengths to exercise his demons in terms of heartbreak."
Other expected guest stars in the show's third season will include Fred Armisen as Lillian's (Carol Kane) new boyfriend, Robert Durst, and Josh Charles as Duke, the owner of the Washington Redskins team.
Charles' character will be involved with Jacqueline (Jane Krakowski).
But she will also have another suitor in Russ Snyder (David Cross), as well as a certain suitor named Cork Rockingham, who is actually Titus disguised as a straight man.
