Nicki Minaj, who is better known for her provocative music videos rather than her philanthropy, must have been in a really good mood this past Saturday night. While one might assume that celebrities would be out partying on a Saturday night, Minaj had other plans. The award-winning rapper replied to some of her fans' requests for assistance, either paying off their student loans, tuition, and other college-related expenses. It started with one fan asking if she could help him out, by tweeting, "@NICKIMINAJ Well you wanna pay for my tuition?"

Although Minaj was being incredibly generous by offering to pay for people's tuition, she did have one criterium for her fans.

She said that she would be happy to help fans who had straight A's or a 4.0 GPA. Not a bad reward for all of the hard work it takes to get straight A's in school, right? Then the responses started to pour in.

Showing proof

Fans were quick to show proof to Minaj that they were worthy of her help, as they tweeted out photos of their transcripts. In fact, photos of transcripts with 4.0 GPAs started to flood Minaj's Twitter page, with requests from people who were working minimum wage jobs, struggling to pay for the last few hundred dollars of their student loans, single parents who were supporting children while trying to pay for school, and even people who just needed help purchasing school books.

Feeling generous

Nicki Minaj isn't the first high-profile celebrity to use social media to help out her fans. Other stars like Chrissy Teigen have been known to respond to fans' requests on Twitter. In fact, Teigen has taken to Twitter on multiple occasions to give her fans gifts, and copies of her cookbook. Once, she even helped a fan who dreamt of attending beauty school by paying the remainder of her tuition fees, which was over $5000.

The fan had started a crowdsourcing campaign to help her pay for her tuition, and Teigen donated enough money to cover it all. "I've seen this be your passion for such a long time now," Teigen wrote next to her donation. "So excited to see you fulfill your dream!"

So, if you missed out Minaj's spur-of-the-moment tuition fund, don't worry.

Before she ended her Twitter giveaway, she said, "Ok u guys. It's been fun. Let me make those payments tmrw then see if I have any money left. I'll do some more in a month or 2." Stay tuned for the next time she does this — just make sure your grades are up to her standards.
