The Dark Phoenix saga

There is currently not a lot of information regarding the plot and cast of the upcoming movie. What is known is that it will be a retelling of the classic comic book story that was originally touched on in the previous "X-Men" movies. Some of the first hints of Jean Grey's Phoenix persona were featured in the previous installments but were criticized by most fans due to its departure from its comic book source. "#Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner, who first appeared in "X-Men: Apocalypse" as Jean Grey, will be reprising her role in the upcoming movie. In the comic book series, Jean Grey becomes possessed by a cosmic entity called the Pheonix Force, which unleashes her ultimate potential as a telepath and telekinetic. The newly born being then becomes a threat, not just to the planet, but to the entire galaxy.
