Josh Duggar has been in and out of headlines for two years now. Back in 2015, it was revealed that he molested four of his sisters and one family friend. The incident was handled under the radar and despite the fact that it had already been a decade when the police report leaked, it blew everything up for the Duggar family. Jill, Jessa, Jinger and Joy-Anna Duggar have filed a lawsuit against the city of Springdale and InTouch Weekly for allowing their names to be associated with the scandal and the re-opening of old wounds for them. Re-victimization is what they are fighting against.

Why is Josh going to court?

Aside from the molestation scandal, Josh Duggar was involved in a cheating scandal. His name was associated with Ashley Madison and when the site was hacked, his dirty laundry was aired. On top of that, Duggar didn't even use his real photo. While his name was leaked, no one would have known it was him on the profiles (yes, more than one) just by looking at them. This caused another rift within the family, especially since Josh's wife had just given birth to their fourth child.

A lawsuit was filed against Josh Duggar for the unlawful use of the photos he used to put on Ashley Madison and other various dating sites, including OK Cupid. The man who filed the lawsuit claims that being associated with Duggar has hurt his career and now, he is having trouble finding work.

It isn't shocking that the man, Matt McCarthy, is suing the reality star. Money talks and when you are trying to make it big, getting your name out there one way or another is the way to go.

Court date revealed

According to the Hollywood Gossip, Josh Duggar will meet his accuser, Matt McCarthy in court on June 22. The lawsuit was filed back in August 2016 and despite attempts to get it dismissed, it has been able to make it this far.

There is no indication on how this will turn out, but it likely will result in some sort of payout for the "victim" in this case. Many people are calling McCarthy's bluff about the hindrance the photos have had on his career.

The next few months are going to be trying for Josh and his wife, Anna Duggar. They are currently expecting their fifth child, two years after a double scandal rocked their lives.

Josh spent time in Illinois in a faith-based rehabilitation center before reconciling with his wife. From all of this, "Counting On" was born. Rumors of Josh Duggar appearing on the upcoming season have been circulating, but nothing has been confirmed.
