It hasn't been that many years since the Jonas Brothers were everywhere on the music scene. They were the personification of undeniable family harmonies and good looks. Fans couldn't get enough, and the appetite for more kept the brothers touring non-stop across the globe. The years passed, and growing pains took effect. The Jonas Brothers have branched out with individual careers, and each cultivates his own projects, but now, all that is on hold for the love of their dad. In March, Kevin Jonas, Sr. received a diagnosis of Colon Cancer, and anyone who has ever faced the disease knows the strength that comes from numbers.

Schedules were all shuffled and shifted so that his sons could put dad first.

Father first

Kevin, Sr. 52, shared in his first interview since his diagnosis that his sons made whatever arrangements necessary to be near him. Nick flew from LA, Joe made a rush trek from Japan, and Kevin, Jr., his namesake and the eldest, “moved important things,” to be with him. The proud father spoke with the NBC affiliate in Charlotte.

Kevin, the oldest of the sons, seals deals in real estate now rather than on stage, and he temporarily transplanted his growing family to be at dad’s side. The clan gathered together for the “last meal before surgery.” Mom, Denise, is used to the commotion caused when her boys walk through any public place, and the family’s unified entrance into Sloan-Kettering still created “a little bit of a stir,” according to mom.

Holding on for a positive prognosis

The family has kept this health crisis private until now, and none of the Jonas Brothers are publicly commenting on dad’s condition. Chemotherapy is still to come, and their father will have prayers and the presence of his family pulling him through the tough days.

There is much to look forward to in the near future for the Jonas family.

Nick Jonas has just released “Remember I Told You” with pals, Mike Posner and Anne-Marie lending some help. The song evokes memories and the many small reasons that can lead to breakups but keeps the mood positive. Just last month, he was singing with Shania Twain for her Stagecoach debut. Joe Jonas is reported to be close to saying “I do” to “Game of Thrones” star, Sophie Turner.

They're doing their best not to make their nuptials a huge media draw, while Joe gets some brotherly help on the how-to's when it comes to proposing.

These happy plans, along with dad getting past surgery, should give the family much to celebrate even in the midst of this trying time.
