After the popular band One Direction disbanded, singer-songwriter Harry Styles began recording his solo album, which is set for release tomorrow, May 12th. In the days leading up to the album's official release, there has been a lot of talk about one particular track on the record, "Two Ghosts." Fans are positive that the lyrics to this song are about none other than country/pop sensation, Taylor Swift.

Whirlwind Romance

The public eye was very much involved in Harry Styles and Taylor Swift's on again, off again romance. There were rumors about a spring fling between the two, and fans insist that "I Knew You Were Trouble" from Swift's fourth studio album, "Red" is about Styles because of the reckless nature of Styles and Swift's love affair.

The lyrics read: "Cause I knew you were trouble when you walked in / So shame on me now / Flew me to places I'd never been / 'Til you put me down, oh." Then, they were confirmed to be dating in late 2012, but quickly ended things in early 2013. Though their time together was rather short lived, many of the songs on Taylor Swift's fifth studio album, "1989" are also believed to be about Styles, including "Out of the Woods," alluding to their snowmobile accident, "Remember when you hit the brakes too soon / Twenty stitches in a hospital room" and of course, "Style," which comments on that young-and-in-love feeling of growing up.

"Two Ghosts" and "Style" Similarities

Fans managed to glance a sneak peak of the lyrics to Styles's new song as he was writing it in public, and many have found uncanny similarities between it and Swift's major hit, "Style." Both songs reference "red lipstick" and a "white t-shirt" and fans are going crazy.

Swift writes, "And I got that red lip, classic thing that you like...You've got that long hair slick back, white t-shirt" and Styles's lyrics are as follows, “Same lips, red / Same eyes, blue / Same white shirt, couple more tattoos. Swifties and Harry Styles fans alike are therefore convinced that it's impossible for "Two Ghosts" to be about anyone else.

Initially, many people thought that Styles's song "Ever Since New York" would be about his high profile ex, because of her song entitled "Welcome To New York," but that didn't catch on quite as much, whereas the parallels between "Two Ghosts" and "Style" are impossible to ignore.

Harry Styles's Thoughts

Since Styles and Swift broke up, Styles has been asked on many occasions whether or not it bothers him that Swift writes songs about him.

He has often said that he doesn't know if she's written about him, but that all he knows is that she's talented and he's happy their time together can inspire amazing music and now it seems that he may be following in her footsteps.

When Personal Life and Career Clash

Swift has been known to pen lyrics about her exes since she released her first self-titled album in 2006, and has received quite a lot of backlash for her openness, honesty, and rawness. She isn't afraid to bring her private life into her music. Many other artists, too, have said that they draw on personal experiences to write and perform music, so it seems like Swift and now Styles are simply doing what they know best: writing, singing, and performing from the inside out.
