"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 just concluded, and fans are now looking forward to the next season. ABC’s highest-rated drama has been renewed for season 14 in February, and just like what actress Ellen Pompeo said, for as long as she would like to continue playing Meredith Grey, the show will go on.

Pompeo said during last year's Vulture Festival that she and the show's creator, Shonda Rhimes have a pact that they go together. She added that the story of the series is about Meredith's journey, and so when she is done, the show will end. For how long does she want to play her character?

The actress said she is "mulling that over."

'Ring Of Fire' showed hospital was literally on fire

Episode 13, just like many viewers expected, is a fast-paced one. Last week, a crazy rapist was holding Dr. Stephanie Edwards and a child named Erin hostage, and when he was set on fire, he rolled into a room full of gas canisters. There was an explosion, and the rapist dies, however, the hospital was placed on a lockdown because of the fire.

For a moment there, because of all the chaos, some viewers were sure that someone will die. But luckily for everyone, nobody was killed The best part of the episode, many would agree, is when Bailey and Webber both decided to fire Minnick. "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 finale ended with Riggs going back to his first love, and Edwards leaving.

Season 14 may premiere this September

The plot for "Grey's Anatomy" season 14 is not available yet, but based on how the finale went, it's clear that everyone will be able to start anew. Since Eliza Minnick is already gone, fans are excited to know who her replacement will be. It can be remembered that she was hired to revamp Grey Sloan's surgical residency program.

We may not be seeing some of the characters we love next season. Just like what the finale teased, some sources say that Jerrika Hinton won't be back to play Stephanie Edwards. Hollywood Reporter previously said that Chandra Wilson (Bailey), James Pickens Jr. (Webber), Justin Chambers (Karev), and Kevin McKidd (Owen) only have a contract till Season 13.

Historically, the show has a pattern of ending in May and starting off a new season in September, and many fans believe it's going to be the same for "Grey's Anatomy" season 14. The series will still be aired Thursdays at 8 p.m., but ABC is yet to confirm the official release date of the next season, but we will definitely keep you posted.
