HBO finally released the first official trailer for Season 7 of "Game of Thrones" and it's safe to say that fans are really excited. The upcoming season of "GOT" is the next to the last for HBO viewers. Fans were informed as last season was wrapping up that the series would be ending after Season 8. However, it looks like HBO is also providing some relief in the form of multiple possible spinoffs that they are considering.

What lies ahead?

For the first time on "Game of Thrones," all the major characters are headed for the same region and the most epic battle is about to start.

For several seasons, fans were warned that winter is coming and now that its here, the humans are getting ready to take on the White Walkers

While the brand new "Game of Thrones" trailer is only a minute and 48 seconds long, it still gives us a huge hint about what's going to go down in Season 7. As Jon Snow, Daenerys, Arya Stark, Tyrion and more head north, we know that the result will be the "Great War" that has been brewing since the HBO hit began.

Breaking down the trailer

The new trailer starts with Cersei standing on a rug depicting the map of the seven kingdoms. She says, "Enemies to the east, enemies to the west, enemies to the south, enemies to the north." Cersei seems to be more worried about defending King's Landing from other humans than she does about the impending doom of the White Walkers, who want to destroy everyone.

Cersei is seen telling Jaime Lannister that they are the only Lannisters left. Naturally, she's wrong since Tyrion is still alive. However, he isn't loyal to his royal family anymore and pledged his allegiance to Daenerys and acts as the Hand of the Queen for her instead of his sister.

Meanwhile, Daenerys, Tyrion and the dragons are back in Westeros and ready to take over so that Dany can stake her claim to the Iron Throne.

The trio of dragons are even bigger than before and will provide some much needed fire power, making it possible for her to overthrow Cersei and take the seat she has been working toward winning for multiple seasons.

While Daenerys is heading for Knight's Landing from one direction, Jon Snow is coming from another. Cersei really is in trouble with enemies approaching from every direction in hopes to overthrow her and take the Iron Throne.

Perhaps the most satisfying part of the "Game of Thrones" Season 7 trailer is where Jon Snow runs into Littlefinger and grabs him by the throat. It seems that he'll want some revenge for what happened to Sansa.

Arya is also back to her old home, WInterfell. In the clip, we see Arya checking under the bed. It's not clear exactly what she's looking for but she definitely hasn't stopped looking over her shoulder and under the furniture to make sure nothing dangerous is lurking.

Even though the first official "Game of Thrones" trailer for Season 7 is rather short, there was a lot of information shared in under two minutes. Certainly HBO will be giving us more as the premiere date gets closer.

"Game of Thrones" returns to HBO on July 16.
