David Ross and Simone Biles ended up in the bottom on Monday night's "Dancing with the Stars." Simone was eliminated one week before the finals, and David is returning next week to dance in the finals. The 40-year-old former MLB star told reporters that he feels that he took Biles' spot.

Monday night's elimination

Ross told Us Weekly that Biles' elimination from the popular ABC dance competition show on Monday, May 15 was shocking. Not only was her elimination shocking to him, but it shocked him that he is the one going to the finals and not the gymnast.

David said that he is shocked about both of their fate. He concluded that he didn't feel like celebrating on stage after the announcement because he felt bad and he wondered how he got to take her spot.

The former baseball catcher confessed that he was shocked every week when he was safe to come back the next week. He admitted that this week was the most shocking of all.

Shocking and surprising

Monday night's elimination was particularly shocking and surprising to viewers and those in the audience because Biles, 20, and her pro partner, Sasha Farber, had been at the top of the leaderboard all season while Ross and his partner, Lindsay Arnold had been at or near the bottom. Simone and Sasha had two perfect scores on Monday night with their jive and rumba, while Ross and his partner, ended up at the bottom of the leaderboard with 70 out of 80.

Ross said what a lot of fans were thinking about the elimination. Even the four judges' expressions showed surprise and disappointment on their faces. Head judge Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli showed how shocked they were.

Simone's attitude

Simone Biles was upbeat and looking on the bright side when she appeared on "Good Morning America" Tuesday morning.

She told Michael Strahan that she was glad for her journey because she learned positive things about herself. She had fun and thanked Sasha for being there for her.

The five-time gold medalist says she is taking a well-deserved vacation and will spend time with family and friends because she has been going nonstop since the Olympics.

She promised that she will be back in the ballroom next Monday night to support David, Rashad Jennings, and Normani Korei in the finals.

Watch "Dancing With The Stars" on Monday, May 22, at 8 p.m. when one couple will be crowned Season 24 champions and receive the Mirror Ball trophy.
