‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’

“Legend of the Sword” is directed by Guy Ritchie and scripted by Joby Harold and Lionel Wigram. The film is based on Arthurian legends, featuring Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Eric Bana, Jude Law, and Aidan Gillen. “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword” premiered at the Grauman's Chinese Theater in the first week of May, and is scheduled to be released worldwide on May 19, 2017.

In February 2014, Guy Ritchie negotiated the project with Warner Bros. The movie was originally titled “Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur,” but the filmmaker changed the name to “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword,” with Lionel Wigram serving as producer and Joby Harold writing its dialogues.

Previously, it was reported that Idris Elba was in talks to play Merlin, but the filmmaker chose another actor for the same role due to salary issues. Shooting began in February 2015, and Ritchie confirmed production through his Twitter in March 2016.

Most of the scenes are shot in Beddgelert, Capel Curig, Loch Torridon, and Applecross areas of Wester Ross in Scotland.
