Chris Blue has won one of the most popular American reality television singing competition "The Voice" season 12.

He was announced as the winner of the show on Tuesday, and this is also the first time that Alicia Keys, who used to be Blue's coach, has won. It seems like it will also be the last win for Keys for now as the 36-year-old American singer is not returning as a coach for the next season of the popular reality television show.

The finale episode saw some brilliant performances from huge artists such as 38-year-old Usher, Alessia Cara, Zedd, Little Big Town and Rascal Flatts.

Previous coaches for the show Miley Cyrus and CeeLo Green also graced the memorable evening with their amazing performances.

24-year-old Miley Cyrus performed her recently released hit single "Malibu" on the show. 35-year-old Jennifer Hudson who is set to join the next season as a coach also set the stage on fire with an unforgettable performance of her song "Remember me."

When this season's famous 'blind auditions' took place, Alicia Keys was the only coach out of all the others who needed an artist.

Chris Blue, who is known for his energetic moves and singing, gave some incredible performances while he was on the show including "24K Magic" and "Rhythm Nation," which are originally sung by Bruno Mars and Janet Jackson respectively.

Blue, who is a Tennessee native, was introduced to music by his mother from a very young age and he was in a band along with his siblings, and together they used to sing at local churches.

Since the last six years, Chris Blue was working as a worship leader, and it was around that period when he got to meet his fiance Stephanie, who was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer.

Before he even won the show, Blue went on record to say that he would want to win the title for all the people that supported and loved him during this incredible journey including his family and coach, Alicia Keys.

Blue gained victory after defeating Aliyah Moulden and Lauren Duski from Blake Shelton's team and Jesse Larson who was coached by Adam Levine.

Second win for a female coach on 'The Voice'

Before this season's winner was announced, the only time a female coach had a winning artist was back in season 10 when Alisan Porter who was from team Christina Aguilera won the finale. Lauren Duski stood at second place whereas Aliyah Moulden and Jesse Larson landed in third and fourth place respectively.
