Brad Pitt in a tell-all interview with GQ Style fashion magazine bared his feelings for the first time since his split and subsequent divorce from actor and former wife, Angelina Jolie. Pitt admitted to his heavy drinking and marijuana intake as the reason behind his split from Jolie. He also blamed the habits o for isolating him from others emotionally.

The 53-year old actor in an extensive interview with GQ Style stated that he has quit drinking and is currently undergoing therapy to be at a better place. Furthermore, both Jolie and Pitt are trying to resolve differences between the two in an amicable manner away from the prying eyes of the paparazzi.

Pitt shared that he had begun therapy and had gone through two counselors before settling for the current one.

Pitt thinks that his split from Jolie was a “huge generator for change.” Currently, he is residing in his Los Angeles home alone with only his bulldog Jacques for the company. The actor feels that he is not going through any type of midlife crisis but is rather getting "back to feeling," which by his admission he avoided for quite some time.

He states now that since the time he went off from college, there had not been a single day when he hadn’t had alcohol. However, now he is really happy to have quit his habit. Currently, his staple drinks in place of alcohol are cranberry juice and fizzy water.

More focus on creating things than movies

Brad shared that he has finally found peace in creating things using in own hands. He also admitted in the interview that this was something that he wanted to do for the past ten years, but never got around it. Currently, he is working with plaster, clay, wood, and rebar. The “Oceans 11” star says that the manually work in creating something with bare hands makes him feels good about himself.

Following months of bitter public fights between Jolie and Pitt regarding the custody of their six children – three biological and three adopted - the couple finally reached an agreement where they decided to hire a private judge to oversee the proceedings of their divorce and also the custody settlements.

Brad was initially investigated for child abuse as rumors were rife that the actor had a physical altercation with his 15-year old son Maddox. However, the actor was cleared of all charges in January 2017, and the matter seems to have been resolved.
