“Baywatch” will get the red band trailer on Monday, May 15, 2017. Though the film has been rated R and contains more nudity and violence than the television show of the same name, most of the teaser trailers and posters have gone viral on the internet.

Next week, the Seth Gordon-directed film will get one red band clip and two full-length trailers, depicting plenty of action and romance. The reboot of the TV series received its R rating in March 2017 for what’s called as “graphic nudity,” meaning that the clip will not be as intense as the movie itself.

‘Baywatch’ – the television show

In 1989, a television show, “Baywatch,” premiered on NBC, and broke the records of previous blockbusters. Following its success, a spin-off, “Baywatch Nights,” and three video films, “Baywatch: White Thunder,” “Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding” and “Baywatch the Movie: Forbidden Paradise” were released from 1999 to 2001. The NBC show was produced by David Hasselhoff, with Michael Berk, Gregory J. Bonann, and Douglas Schwartz serving as directors.

The cast includes David Hasselhoff, Wendie Malick, Parker Stevenson, Shawn Weatherly, Erika Eleniak, Billy Warlock, Brandon Call, Jeremy Jackson, Monte Markham, Holly Gagnier, Gregory Alan Williams, Tom McTigue and Nicole Eggert.

Film of the same name

“Baywatch” is an upcoming action movie starring Dwayne Johnson, Alexandra Daddario, Ilfenesh Hadera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen, Pamela Anderson, Zac Efron, Kelly Rohrbach, and Priyanka Chopra. The film is scheduled to be released on May 25, 2017, by Paramount Pictures.

The story revolves around the leader of elite lifeguard squad, Buchannon, who teams up with a former athlete, Brody, to fight against a smuggler, Victoria Leeds.

They get to know that she’s involved in drug trafficking operations, and aim to stop her from the evil mission. Most of the scenes are shot in Georgia, Los Angeles, and Thailand.

In October 2013, it was reported that Robert Ben Garant had joined hands with Paramount Pictures for the film version of the famous television show, “Baywatch.” Dwayne is attached to the project since October 2014, and Justin Malen was recruited to write the story and dialogues in December 2014.

Efron was confirmed to the cast in August 2015. “Baywatch” is a joint project of Ivan Reitman, Seven Bucks Productions, and Beau Flynn.

In October 2015, Deadline reported that several females were auditioned for the leading character opposite Zac Efron, including Ashley Benson, Alexandra Shipp, Bianca Santos, Denyse Tontz, Alexandra Daddario, and Nina Dobrev. The movie was initially scheduled for April 2017, but Paramount Pictures pushed the release date to May 2017 to accommodate “Alien: Covenant.”
