"Ant-Man and the Wasp" won't arrive until July next year, but already, production is underway to put together the film that brings back Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, and Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne. While the studio hasn't disclosed the plot of the film just yet, actor David Dastmalchian, who played Scott Lang's friend, Kurt, let slip that the sequel will be "mind-blowing."

He was on hand during the Los Angeles premiere of Showtime's "Twin Peaks" revival when reporters asked him about his involvement in the upcoming sequel to the 2015 Peyton Reed-directed film, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Marvel transcending previous films with 'Ant-Man 2.'

According to David Dastmalchian, the studio is currently working on some "really cool" things with "Ant-Man and the Wasp." He shared that he was able to get a glimpse of it recently and that the film is going to feature some awesome things that the MCU hasn't showcased in their previous films just yet. Now what exactly these things remain to be seen with the film hits theaters in July next year.

'Ant-man' 2 to introduce new technology

David Dastmalchian may be referring to the new tech that "Ant-Man and the Wasp" is set to feature. Director Peyton Reed recently hinted that the "mind-blowing" sequel would feature updated technology, given that Scott Lang's suit was initially Hank Pym's original suit.

Reed explained, "For Ant-Man specifically, in that first movie, the suit, intentionally so, is a relic. It represents his past, so this is the new iteration that is the modern version of the tech."

Marvel may also pull an "Iron Man 3" and play with the idea of having multiple suits, as the first film already hinted at The Wasp's suit that was awaiting Hope van Dyne at the end of the film.

In addition, Reed also hinted that in the upcoming movie, it might not just be the suits that would do the magic. He explained, "There was one idea that Hank Pym had forwarded the shrinking and growing technology so that it’s not just necessarily the suits that are the vessels. Maybe it could be vehicles or something else as well."

Michael Pena returning to bring the laughs

One of the more amusing parts of "Ant-Man" was Michael Pena's character, Luis, who fans would be happy to know is confirmed to return in "Ant-Man and the Wasp." He confirmed his involvement in the film in an interview with LRM back in March. "Ant-Man and the Wasp" is set to arrive in theaters on July 6, 2018.
