A 13-year-old girl is a fan of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." When she let the Make a Wish Foundation know that she would like to be in the audience during a live episode of the dance competition, her wish was granted.

About Macy Martin

The Martin family have been a fan of "Dancing With The Stars" for a long time. When Macy said her wish was to visit the ballroom, the family thought it was an excellent idea because Macy loves to dance. The daughter of Todd and Julie Martin has cystic fibrosis. That's a life-threatening disorder that damages the lungs and digestive system.

According to Macy's mother, in her daughter's short lifetime she has taken more than 66,300 pills. She has consumed over 66,300 cans of Pediasure for added nutrition and spent more than 5,000 hours on an airway clearance device that helps shake mucus from her lungs. She had had seven surgeries after being hospitalized five times.

Wish is coming true

The Make a Wish Foundation is known for granting wishes to children who have life-threatening medical conditions. The organization's main goal is to grant wishes to put some joy into a sick child's life. Therefore, on Sunday, April 9, the Martin family took off for Los Angeles to attend Monday night’s live performance of "Dancing With the Stars."

Macy's dance instructor, Lisa Shed, said the trip will be a great experience for Macy.

The owner of Lisa's Dance Connection said Macy is a good dancer who dances with her whole body. She has been taking dance lessons for the last seven years. The middle school student has learned to dance jazz, tap, ballet and hip-hop. While visiting the "Dancing with the Stars" ballroom, Macy will see in person how the professional dancers perform.

What Macy expects to see

The Make a Wish staff are planning something special for the entire day on Monday which includes spending the day at the studio. While they are in Los Angeles, the family will sightsee and visit Universal Studios on Tuesday

Macy’s favorite professional dancers are Lyndsey Arnold and Witney Carson. Unfortunately, Witney was eliminated after the first week when her partner Chris Kattan was voted off.

She won the championship when she partnered with Alphonso Ribeiro during Season 19 in 2014. Macy's mother thinks Witney might show up on the set if she hears Macy's story.

Simone Biles is Macy's favorite contestant this season. From seasons past, her favorites were Bindi Irwin and Niles DiMarco. Both of them won the Mirror Ball Trophy during their seasons.

Macy said she will document her experience by writing in her journal and by taking lots of photos. The host might acknowledge Macy Martin in the audience. Watch for her and her family on Monday's "Dancing with the Stars" when the theme will be the dancers' most memorable year.
