Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures have released several TV spots featuring new “Despicable Me 3” footage.

In the third movie, Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, Nev Scharrel portray Gru, Lucy, Margo, Edith, and Agnes, respectively. The new character, Balthazar Bratt, is played by Trey Parker (The Book of Mormon).

A sneak preview at the box office reports

The original movie, “Despicable Me,” was released in 2010, and grossed more than $500 million at the box office. The sequel, “Despicable Me 2,” was officially released in 2013, and grossed over $950 million worldwide.

The pre-sequel movie, “Minions,” hit the theaters in 2015, and earned over $900 million at the box office. Another pre-sequel film, “Minions 2,” is scheduled for summer 2020. Several video games, short films, theme park attractions, and books have been set around Gru’s character.

‘Despicable Me 3’ – a mega-budget film

Despicable Me 3” is one of the most anticipated Hollywood movies. It is being produced by Illumination Entertainment and will be distributed by Universal Pictures. It is the third installment in “Despicable Me”. Pierre Coffin has directed the project, with Kyle Balda and Eric Guillon serving as co-producers.

The story and dialogues are written by Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul.

The film is scheduled to be released on June 30, 2017. Its story revolves around Balthazar Bratt, who has grown up as an obsessed celebrity. He is afraid of losing his money and fame. Meanwhile, Dru wants him to team up with the criminals to steal the diamonds.

In 2013, the NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke stated that the new movie in the “Despicable Me” series would be released in 2017. The writers of the original film, Ken Daurio, and Cinco Paul were recruited to pen the story and dialogues of “Despicable Me 3.” In March 2016, Trey Parker joined the cast as Balthazar Bratt.

The first official teaser trailer for the film was released in December 2016, followed by a full-length trailer in March 2017.

The third teaser trailer was released a few days ago. It has been designed for TV usage and gives glimpses at the main characters of the story.

Some of the highest grossing films by Universal Picture are “Furious 7,” “Minions,” and “Jurassic World,” while Illumination Entertainment is famous for “The Secret Life of Pets,” “Hop,” “Sing,” and “The Lorax.” The two studios have teamed up for “Despicable Me 3,” and spent over $102 million on the production.
