Netflix has announced its new arrivals and departures for next month, and some significant additions are coming to the service. Marc Randolph founded this American entertainment company in August 1997. Netflix provides streaming media, DVD by mail and video-on-demand online. In 2016, it expanded into television and film production. Since then, the company introduces various new movies, TV shows, documentaries, and Short Films, through the official website.

Netflix May 2017 arrivals

In the month of May, dozens of television sitcoms and movies will be forefront.

Projects like “American Experience: The Big Burn,” “Decanted,” “Don’t Think Twice,” “Forrest Gump,” “Nerdland,” and “Under Arrest: Season 5” are scheduled for the first week of May. And the second week will see “The Adventure Club,” “Command and Control,” “The Intent,” “The Break-Up,” and “The Place Beyond the Pines.”

‘Love’

“Love” is a romantic drama directed and written by Gaspar Noé. The film marked Noe's fourth directorial venture after a gap of six years. Its story revolves around an American student, Murphy, and his former French girlfriend, Electra. The two dated each other for several years and then Murphy moves to Paris. One day, he meets another lady, Omi, and falls in love with her.

Later, he finds that Omi is pregnant with his child and this unwanted pregnancy ends their relationship on a sad note.

‘Chocolat’

“Chocolat” is a famous British-American drama based on the novel of the same name by Joanne Harris. It was directed and produced by Lasse Hallström. The story is about a young mother, Juliette Binoche, who arrives at a famous French village with her daughter.

The two open a small shop, La Chocolaterie Maya, in the village and quickly become wealthy. This movie received five nominations for Academy Awards and dozens of awards. It also received nominations for eight BAFTAs and three Golden Globes.

‘Happy Feet’

Happy Feet” is a blockbuster of 2006. This American movie was directed, scripted, and produced by George Miller.

The cast includes Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Brittany Murphy, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, and E.G. Daily. It was a joint project of Animal Logic and Warner Bros. The film was distributed in the US by Village Roadshow Pictures, and Kingdom Feature Productions acquired the UK distribution rights. It is a story of a penguin that sings a unique song to attract its mates. The film was partially inspired by a BBC documentary “Life in the Freezer.”

Some other famous projects in the lineup are “Invincible,” “Jurassic Park,” “Tales from the Darkside: The Movie,” “The Doors,” and “To Catch a Thief.” Earlier this month, Netflix reported that it has over 95 million subscribers worldwide, including more than 50 million in the US and Canada.
