Fantastic Beasts and where to Find Them” made a remarkable feat at the box-office. Given the Potter fans worldwide, a sequel is already expected. The next yet-to-be-named Potter film already confirmed its latest addition to its star-studded cast.

Academy Award nominee and acclaimed actor Jude Law will be Albus Dumbledore. The movie will be set in the time decades before the character became the headmaster of the famous wizarding school, the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Transfiguration professor

In the sequel movie to "Fantastic Beasts," the widely loved Headmaster will be Hogwarts’ Transfiguration professor.

He is the counterpart of the Dark Wizard fans came across in the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” named Gellert Grindelwald, which was revealed to be portrayed by Johnny Depp.

The professor was mentioned in the first installment when he argued about the expulsion of one of the students. Later, it was revealed that Newt Scamander was the expelled student due to an incident with a magical creature.

In addition, in his foreword to the most recent edition of the Hogwarts Library book “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” Scamander revealed his reverence to the professor. He said that for him, Albus Dumbledore is more than a schoolteacher. He, however, hesitated to disclose more so as not to break his mentor’s trust as well as the Official Magical Secrets Act.

Jude Law

Film director David Yates revered Law as a talented actor whom he admires and looks forward to working with. In addition, he said that the actor would be able to portray all the different sides of Albus Dumbledore as J.K. Rowling described him in a very different point in his life.

Law has been into all platforms as an actor on TV, movie and theater.

He has been nominated for three Olivier Awards and two Tony Awards. Moreover, Law has been nominated for two Academy Awards, three Golden Globes.

He also won a BAFTA as the Best Actor in a Supporting Role for the movie, “The Talented Mr. Ripley.” Recently, the actor stars in the HBO drama titled, “The Young Pope.”

Next Rowling movie

The screenplay of the next film is still written by J.K.

Rowling who first made her screenwriting debut with “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” The movie is set decades before the Harry Potter era at the wizarding school.

The upcoming movie will mark the beginning of a new period, which is a deeper and darker era for the wizarding world. There are five planned movies in the franchise that will be directed by Yates.

The upcoming sequel is scheduled to be released in November 2018 with filming scheduled to start this summer.
