Harry Styles is the musical guest on "Saturday Night Live" on April 15. The 23-year-old musician performed on "SNL" three times in the past when he was a member of One Direction, but this will be his debut as a solo artist.

Life as a solo artist

One Direction formed with some help from the reality show "The X-Factor." The five-man band released their first studio album in November of 2011 and four well received albums followed after that. One Direction has received hundreds of nominations and won 175 different awards, including American Music Awards, Teen Choice Awards, MTV Music Awards, People's Choice Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards and more.

The group achieved an extremely high level of success for nearly five years, but announced that they would go on hiatus in March of 2016.

One year before the planned hiatus, Zayn Malik, a member of One Direction, announced that he was leaving the group to sign a solo recording contract. Zayn is doing quite well on his own, and now it's Styles turn to give it a shot. Styles' first single, "Sign of the Times," will be released on Friday, April 7. As if that's not enough, he also has a new WWII movie coming out this summer titled "Dunkirk." Add his appearance on this weekend's "Saturday Night Live" to the mix, and you can see that he has been a busy man since leaving One Direction.

Fallon returns to the 'SNL' stage

Hosting on April 15 is funny man Jimmy Fallon. He's taking a break from his hosting duties on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" so he can return to the "SNL" stage. The comedian and host has a long history with "Saturday Night Live," as he began working on the show in 1998 and stayed for six years.

Since his departure as a cast member in 2004, Fallon has hosted twice. The first time was in December of 2011 and the second was in December of 2013. Fans of the 42-year-old comic are excited to see him take on the role again this April.

Fallon is a natural when it comes to hosting and he excels every time he is on "SNL." He has already starred in two late night shows with his name in the title.

The first being "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and then on to bigger things with "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." He has also worked in prime time as a host for the "Emmy Awards," "Golden Globe Awards," and the "MTV Music Awards."

The next new "Saturday Night Live" will air on May 6 with actor Chris Pine serving as host. After that, you will see Melissa McCarthy hosting on May 13 and Dwayne Johnson hosting the season finale on May 20.
