"General Hospital" spoilers have been hinting that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) isn't her true self. Several clues have been detected by observant fans, some of them so subtle you wouldn't notice unless you were paying attention to every last detail of the scene. Rumors of Alex Devane (Finola Hughes) being brought to Port Charles have been circulating for a few weeks now. Anna's twin could have easily taken her place without anyone knowing.
Who is Alex Devane?
Alex Devane was brought to life on "All My Children" when Finola Hughes was fired from "General Hospital." She was revealed to be Anna Devane's twin sister after a series of revelations were made.
The storyline was complicated and eventually the soap reunited the sisters and got everything sorted out. Alex left to move to Hungary with her husband, Dimitri and Anna went back to Port Charles to be with her daughter Robin Scorpio.
Now that Prospect Parks has given ABC all of the rights to "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" again, it is possible for Alex to show up on "General Hospital" without any issues. This scenario would fit in with the way Anna has been acting, suddenly gaining her memories of Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) back without help. Anna has never been endearing to him and some of the scenes between the two were incredibly touching.
What happened to Anna?
According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, "General Hospital" spoilers indicate Faison sent Alex to Port Charles to handle Valentin and kidnapped Anna so that she isn't involved.
The theory is that Faison used Alex to crack Valentin back in the WSB days and he doesn't want Anna to find out. This is possible, but would take a lot of rewriting history for it to work. Also, Anna is sick and needs to take care of herself. People would notice if Alex was doing things Anna shouldn't be. Fans are torn about whether or not they want to see Alex on "General Hospital."
The next several weeks on "General Hospital" will be filled with plenty of drama.
As the build up for May sweeps happens, several storylines will gain more ground. If Alex is revealed to be in town in Anna's place, the circumstances surrounding it will like be drawn out. Jane Elliot will be leaving in a few weeks as well and her exit will likely take some of the attention off the Anna and Valentin storyline for now. "General Hospital" has plenty of surprises for fans, and the introduction of Alex Devane may be one of them.
