We are well aware of the fact that HBO doesn't share much information when it comes to "Game of Thrones". Recently they published several pictures from the upcoming season, but fans were disappointed because they don't actually tell us anything. However, the most loyal fans took the time to analyze them and of course they have a couple of theories.
Daenerys introduces a brand new Targaryen nod
One of the pictures shows Daenerys and her inner circle, Varys, Missandei, Tyrion and Grey Worm. They are pictured standing in formation before their army looking so fierce and determined.
Another interesting thing, besides the looks on their faces, is the way they are dressed. Tyrion and Varys are wearing the clothes they wore before, but Daenerys, Missandei and Grey Worm have a completely new outfit. The three look amazing all covered up in black leather. Their outfits tell us they are ready for the battle and that it is probably cold, which means that the long time ago heralded winter finally arrived.
However, that is not all. Grey Worm has a brand new collar in addition to the new outfit. His collar has a pin with three dragon heads, but that is not the traditional Targaryen sigil. It is very close to the original, but still, it has more than obvious distinctions. So, what does that mean?
Well, it is still a Targaryen nod. It has dragons that symbolize the house and the three dragons Daenerys has. The logical conclusion would be that Daenerys had decided to establish a new chapter for the Targaryens. She wants to pay respect to the past and bring something of her own to it because she is determined to take back the Iron Throne after so many years.
The theory of Tyrion secretly being a Targaryen
Another interesting thing is that in the first picture Missandei doesn’t have the pin attached to her outfit, but HBO published a picture of Missandei standing alone wearing the same pin Grey Worm has in the first picture. That could mean that either she got a pin of her own or both of them have pins or something else fans would probably be angry about.
Yes, since this is “Game of Thrones” that could also mean that Grey Worm dies at the very beginning of the season seven. If he died, Missandei probably wears the pin to have something to remember him by.
One more fan theory says that Tyrion could actually be a Targaryen. They explained that Daenerys’ vision where her brother, Rhaegar, told her about a dragon with three heads actually means that the dragon doesn’t literally have multiple heads but that it represents the three dragon riders. The dragon riders have the same goal, think as one and have three dragons. In that case, the riders would be Daenerys, Jon, and Tyrion (who is secretly a Targaryen). However, Daenerys could just as easily choose Missandei and Grey Worm to ride the dragons and in that case this theory would be false. One thing is absolutely certain, the pin is different for a reason and we are yet to discover the real truth about it.
