"Happy Days" star Erin Moran spent her final days tragically and secretly fighting stage four throat cancer according to cast member and close pal Anson Williams. Williams, who played Postie Weber on the hit comedy sitcom revealed that most of the cast of "Happy Days" were well aware of Erin's sad medical condition, but kept the information quiet out of respect for Moran, according to People magazine.

Erin Moran unable to speak during her final days

The report reveals that Moran was undergoing treatment for the stage four throat cancer and was unable to speak, spending her last days on a feeding tube under the care of her mother-in-law.

Williams reveals that he had been in contact with Erin via text and spent time keeping up on her radiation and chemo treatments through her husband.

Anson Williams reveals he was unaware Moran's condition was so advanced

Anson stated that he was under the impression that Moran was fighting the throat cancer, and had no idea that things were as bad as they were because she and her family kept her condition and health status under wraps.

"I was just shocked when I got the call she had passed. I had no idea it was that bad," said Anson Williams. Williams also revealed that he and Erin were friends long before she auditioned for the role of Joanie Cunningham. In fact, he was the one who told her about the role.

The sad news was only known by a few of Moran's closest friends, and it appears that former co-star and ex-boyfriend Scott Baio (Chachi Arcola) was one who did not know that Moran suffered from cancer. As previously reported, Baio did a radio interview Monday morning on the "Bernie and Sid" radio show and gave his opinion and commented on Moran's death, stating that he was sad about Erin's death, "shocked, but not completely shocked by the news."

“For me, you do drugs or drink, you’re gonna die,” Baio said.

“I’m sorry if that’s cold, but God gave you a brain, gave you the will to live and thrive, and you gotta take care of yourself.”

Since the interview Scott Baio and his wife Renee have been suffering major backlash on Twitter, with his comments being described as heartless and cold. Renee Baio stated on social media that she and Scott offered Erin help many times over the years, but Moran always rejected their attempts.

She also revealed that she and Scott had been in touch with Erin just last month. At this time information regarding Erin's condition is coming to light, with a full autopsy underway.
