Elton John has canceled several shows in the upcoming weeks at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace between April 24th and May 6th due to a severe illness. According to TMZ, insiders close to Elton John, the "Tiny Dancer" hitmaker has been battling an illness for the past few months.The celebrity news site reports that Elton's medical team has now advised the singer to take time off to rest and fully recuperate.

CNN also reported that John spent two days over the past weekend hospitalized in the intensive care unit with a serious infection which Caesar's Palace Facebook reveals he contracted while recently on tour in South America.
John released a statement apologizing to fans and revealing he is expected to make a fast and speedy recovery as long as he follows his doctor's strict orders.Tickets are currently being refunded to fans who purchased seats for the show.
