Although "Daredevil" season 3 was confirmed during the 2016 Comic-Con in San Diego, talks and rumors of a possible cancellation have been rampant mainly because of the lack of details and information pertaining to Marvel's series. According to reports, the series was already given the signal to push through on Netflix. However, the series might not be aired anytime this year but instead will be scheduled for airing in 2018. Much like "Jessica Jones" season 2, Matt Murdock's series will only be aired after "The Defenders," which is set to air in Aug.

2017. Charlie Cox himself, who plays the titular role in the series, has reportedly revealed that he will begin filming late this year.

That said, fans are expecting "Daredevil" season 3 to be aired by mid-2017 in Netflix. However, that might be the earliest at the most, and if the schedule is looked into conservatively, the series might have an Aug. or Sept. 2018 air date - similar to "The Defenders" and "Luke Cage."

The return of a major villain

"Daredevil" season 3 spoilers reveal that a primary villain might be returning in the form of Wilson "Kingpin" Fisk, played by Vincent D'Onofrio. While there has been no confirmation yet on D'Onofrio's return in the series, fans are already expecting him to go back to make life harder for Matt Murdock.

If anything, the fans are expecting Wilson Fisk to return by because Fisk won't be on "The Defenders."

D'Onofrio himself has reportedly hinted that he might be reprising his role in the future. However, he played coy as to when or what season or episode he might be returning.

Matt Murdock vs. Bullseye

Meanwhile, another popular villain might be appearing in "Daredevil" season 3 in the form of Bullseye.

According to reports, Charlie Cox has long been openly expressing his desire to have Bullseye become part of the series. Bullseye is considered to be one of the most popular and most hated villains and to have him on the show will be a game changer.

However, take the news about Bullseye's possible appearance in season 3 with a grain of salt as the showrunners have yet to confirm the issue.

Nevertheless, if Charlie Cox a.k.a. Matt Murdock wants to have a showdown with Bullseye the showrunners will have to make an extra effort to incorporate him in season 3's plot.

Why the cast members are wary of Bullseye's appearance

According to reports, some of the main characters in "Daredevil" season 3 are scared of the possibility of Bullseye's appearance mainly because it might mean death for the people close to Matt Murdock. If the showrunners decide to bring Bullseye in the series, it will be an exciting run for the fans to guess which actor has been chosen to play the role.

Some of the popular choices for Bullseye include Jason Statham, Colin Farrell (who played Bullseye in a movie) and Jake Gyllenhaal. Keep posted for more "Daredevil" season 3 updates!
