"13 Reasons Why" is considered to be one of Netflix's breakthrough productions for 2017. With its timely plot and anti-bullying storyline, it was dubbed as one of the most socially-awakening series in modern times. At first glance, the new Netflix series comes off as a typical drama full of teenage angst and tribulations, but at a deeper perspective, the viewers are hooked with the show's message and thrilling plot line.

The fast and increasing surge of viewers sparked speculations that Netflix is seriously considering "13 Reasons Why" Season 2.

If there's going to be a season 2 indeed, there will surely be more secrets, and shocking truths unveiled hidden among the Liberty High School Students.

Unlike other teenage drama series, "13 Reasons Why" focuses on heavy but realistic cases and situations that are bothering students in modern times. Hannah, one of the lead characters in the series, killed herself but left several tapes for different people who she thinks are responsible for her death in one way or another.

A sad tale of pointing fingers

While Hannah's story might be tragic and all, some viewers believe that her character is not someone to be pitied. In fact, some netizens have been circulating a piece of theory believing that Hannah is not a saint as the story depicts, considering that she also had some shortcomings on her part.

Failing to report a rape, for instance, is one of the loopholes in the story. She was there, she saw it with her own eyes, and that is the point that some viewers are driving at. In general, there are too many legit loopholes in the story that would make "13 Reasons Why" season 2 a necessity.

Season 2 spoilers - characters might get their own backstories

The 13-episodes for Netflix's popular mini-series is not enough to give each of the characters a comprehensive background. A lot of burning questions are still up in the air even after the first season finale. That said if Netflix will push through with "13 Reasons Why" season 2, a rich backstory for each character are expected to unfold.

As of writing, reps for Netflix have yet to confirm the possible season 2 status of the series. Meanwhile, executive producer, Selena Gomez, has been busy thanking all the fans and viewers of the series for their warm support and reviews. The "Can't Keep My Hands To Myself" singer previously shared to the public that she takes pride in being part of the Netflix show as she wants to be an advocate of bullying amongst teenagers.
