Bonner Bolton is partnering with Sharna Burgess this spring on ABC's “Dancing With The Stars” Season 24 and people are already buzzing about this contestant. Many will surely be drawn to Bolton's backstory and he definitely seems like he could be a contender for the mirror-ball trophy. What does everybody need to know about Bonner?

A terrifying accident changed Bolton's life forever

As People shares, Bonner Bolton first made a name for himself as a professional bull rider and he grew up in Texas with a rodeo cowboy father. This new “Dancing With the Stars” contestant knew from an early age that he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and he started training at the age of 10, winning his first title when he was 20.

However, as the bull riding season began in 2016, he was bucked off of a bull and experienced terrifying injuries.

The “DWTS” contestant was initially paralyzed from the neck down and he broke his C-2 vertebrae. As Bustle details, he also shattered his collarbone, dislocated his shoulder in several places, and tore his bicep. Luckily, Bonner's paralysis did not last long, and he went through a grueling surgery and rehabilitation period to recover.

Bonner shifted from bull riding to modeling

Bolton was told by doctors that his bull riding career was over after the accident, and just a few months after his accident, he started to do some modeling. Bonner also was a stunt double for Scott Eastwood in the movie “The Longest Ride” and he aspires to get back on a bull again at some point.

It sounds as if this new “Dancing With the Stars” contestant is throwing himself fully into his dance training with partner Sharna Burgess and his fans are anxious to see him hit the stage.

From the sound of things, there is some intense chemistry developing between Bonner and Sharna, notes People. It sounds as if the 31-year-old dance pro and 29-year-old model and former bull rider are both single at the moment and they seem pretty excited to be working together this spring on “Dancing With the Stars.” Could the sparks they're experiencing lead to something more eventually?
