Tyra Banks has got talent! The model and original Victoria's Secret Angel, who previously hosted "America’s Next Top Model," will host the popular NBC series "America’s Got Talent" when it returns this summer. The show, which has been airing since 2006, was previously hosted by Nick Cannon, Jerry Springer, and Regis Philbin.

'America's Got Talent' gets fierce!

Banks will be replacing Nick Cannon, who left the show after eight seasons earlier this year after his controversial Showtime special aired. Although Cannon was not fired from the show, he left due to what he claimed to be 'unfair treatment.'

She will be joining Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Simon Cowell, all of whom returned as judges.

The announcement was made by NBC earlier today via press release and confirmed by judge Howie Mandel and Tyra Banks herself. The former "Deal or No Deal" host welcomed his new co-worker to the show in a sweet Twitter post, where she happily responded to him in a post of her own. The other judges have yet to post anything on social media regarding Banks's new job on the show.

During her announcement regarding her new position, Banks declared her love for the show. She talked about how the show makes “the impossible possible” and that she looks forward to helping make the dreams of performers come true. She went on to say that she has always loved watching performers and is happy that now she can be a part of their journey.

(There will, of course, be a lot of smiling with the eyes—or smiling happening as well!)

NBC President of reality and alternative programming Paul Telegdy and president of entertainment programming of Fremantle North America Trish Kinane both released statements of their own, saying that they think Banks is a good fit for the show and they are happy to welcome her to their show family.

AGT's return is coming soon!

"America’s Got Talent" is set to return for its twelfth season this summer, although an exact air date has yet to be announced. Filming is scheduled to begin this week, while auditions for the show have been taking place for the past several months.

The show will once again take place and film at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
