Steve Burton has been a fan favorite since he originated the role of Jason Morgan on "General Hospital." A few years ago, Morgan left the daytime drama, to the disappointment of his followers. In an interview with "Soap Opera Digest," Burton said he was not going to take another television role, and that he was going to spend more time with his family. Imagine the surprise of his followers when only a few months later Burton took on the role of Dylan MCavoy on the CBS soap "The Young and the Restless." It looks like Mr. Burton is keeping his loyal soap fans in limbo once again.

Don't listen to what they say, but please watch what they do

When it comes to actors on daytime drama series, it's best to remember the old adage of not listening to what someone says, but watching what they do. This way you will not be surprised when they throw curve balls, as Steve Burton recently did. Only weeks ago, he exited his stint as Dylan and headed off for parts unknown. He gave no clue as to what his next role would be. Now, however, rumors abound that Burton might return to GH and reprise the role of Jason.

This began last October when the online rumor mill was hinting that Burton's replacement as Jason, Billy Miller, might be leaving the show. This only fueled speculation that Steve Burton might return.

Now, "General Hospital" fans are expressing their joy about Jason's {Miller) Bromance with co-star Curtis Ashford, portrayed by Donnell Miller.

Never say never

When Burton began his role as Dylan, ironically, his Jason replacement was simultaneously exiting his Y&R role as Billy Abbott. It would be interesting if the two men switched soaps again.

And as Steve Burton reprises his role as Jason, Billy Miller returns to the CBS soap, only this time as Dylan, with a new face and identity.

This is certainly plausible as stranger things have taken place in the land of daytime drama. Also, consider that the character of Dylan MCavoy left town for a witness protection program.

To quote Mr. Burton when asked about his leaving "The Young and the Restless," "When it comes to daytime, never say never." Let's hope Steve Burton will not keep his fans in limbo for long, and soon announce his next move.
