Stop whatever you're doing and go watch Lorde's new music video Green Light. The official video for her new single was released on March 3 2017, and it already has more than 13 million views on YouTube.

The artist's fans have been waiting for her to release new music since the success of her debut album Pure Heroine, which was released in 2013. After months of teasing about her new album on Twitter, Lorde finally gave us a first look into her second album Melodrama, which was one of the most anticipated new albums of the year.

The song Green Light is different from Lorde's previous singles, but it still has the poetic lyrics that we love in her music.

The 20-year-old from New Zealand seems to follow a new direction on her second album, with more upbeat and dance songs.

Green Light is “the story of the last 2 wild, fluorescent years of [her] life”, as she shared with her followers on Twitter, earlier this month. It captures perfectly what it feels like to be lonely in a big city after a heartbreak and it wasn't an easy song to write according to her.

The official music video of Green Light

The official music video of Green Light was directed by the talented and inimitable, as Lorde called him, Grant Singer.

It's the young artist's urban adventure, during which we get to follow her around as she does her makeup in somebody else's car, dances around in the streets and on the top of a car.

Along with the release of her new single came the reveal of her new album's cover, which is really artistic as well. Melodrama will be released in June, 2017.

Upcoming concerts to promote Melodrama

Lorde's schedule is full of festival performances and concerts this summer. Just to name a few, the artist will perform at Coachella in April, Bonaroo Festival in June and Osheaga Festival in August, along with The Weeknd and Muse.

The new single definitely gave the artist the green light to another success, as it was highly praised by critics and well received by the fans and public. It makes us want more, and everyone is excited for the release of the full album.
