"Days Of Our Lives" has been nominated for several of the 44th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards top categories including Outstanding Daytime Drama Series. Despite having new writers, actors, and actresses leaving or being recast, the show never missed a beat and remained in the running with other popular soaps including "The Bold and The Beautiful," "The Young and The Restless," and "General Hospital."
All four shows faced off for the Outstanding Daytime Drama Emmy in 2016 and this year, "DOOL" fans are hoping for a big win when the Emmy's are awarded on April 30.
'DOOL' gets some big nominations!
In addition to the nomination for Outstanding Daytime Drama, all four shows have also been nominated for Outstanding Drama Series Writing Team as well as Outstanding Drama Series Directing Team. With the recent change of the "Days Of Our Lives" head writer position, it is unclear which writer will be credited with the nomination.
Which cast members were nominated?
Fans of "Days Of Our Lives" love Billy Flynn! The actor who portrays Chad has been nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. He is up against another "DOOL" actor, Vincent Irizarry who plays Deimos.
