"16 & Pregnant" wasn't canceled after all. Although the most recent episode of the series was broadcast way back in July 2014, a new report claims a new season is coming soon.

Since July 2014, there have been several reports made in regard to the MTV series' future, many of which suggested that the network had no plans to move forward with more seasons of the show, and others which claimed they would instead focus on their "Teen Mom" spinoff series, including the first and second franchises of the show. However, according to a report by Wetpaint Entertainment on March 23, MTV is currently casting for "16 & Pregnant" season six.

A '16 & Pregnant' flier has been released

Wetpaint Entertainment claims a flier was recently shared in which producers requested young women ”from varying backgrounds who are facing an unplanned pregnancy” and would be open to sharing their pregnancy journeys with people around the world.

“Our goal is to give viewers a look inside the realities of teen pregnancy... from morning sickness and balancing school responsibilities to navigating incredibly difficult decisions and relationships... ultimately to the day of the baby’s arrival and beyond,” the flier noted.

'16 & Pregnant' has led to three spinoffs

After the airing of the first season of the MTV reality series, MTV launched "Teen Mom" and selected four girls from the show, Amber Portwood, Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell and Farrah Abraham, to appear on the show, which continues to share their unique stories with viewers.

One year later, after "16 & Pregnant" season two, four more girls were selected to appear on "Teen Mom 2." These girls were Leah Messer, Jenelle Evans, Chelsea Houska and Kailyn Lowry.

MTV also launched a third spinoff, "Teen Mom 3," about Mackenzie Douthit, Briana DeJesus, Alexandria Sekella and Katie Yeager, but unlike the first two shows, the series was not a hit with viewers and ultimately was cancelled after airing for just one season on MTV.

No word yet on a potential premiere for the new season of "16 & Pregnant."
